I can say confidently that I have no doubts about where I’d like to study. But after having spent time as a foundation student there, examining the quality of work put out by students, and building friendships with current students and past students. Video games. Out of all the interests in my eclectic (“Definition of ECLECTIC”, 2016) range of interests, Video games have been ubiquitous throughout all 17 years of my life. This negative mental development pushed me to go on a long soul search, where I would sit down for countless hours, reflecting on my life so far in a desperate attempt to identify my passion. Not having any idea of what they want to do in the future as they’re finishing high school, would have a negative impact on most teenagers state of mind, anxiety begins to kick in, uncertainty starts to escalate, and the feeling that their life will amount to nothing but failure in the future begins to corrupt their mind. But it boiled down to me not being passionate about any of the things I’d picked up or were mildly interested in. You’d think that, purely because of my large pool of scope, I’d have to be deranged to not be able to identify a target future career. Things like Sports, Technology, Linguistics, and even Liberal arts were part of my comprehensive scope of interest and knowledge. In simple terms, the word “Polymath” is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as a person who knows a lot about many things.ĭuring high school, my interests and knowledge covered a wide spectrum. My high school years were as I like to call them, my “Polymath” years. 1 year ago while I was still in high school, I was part of that 15%.
